UPSTREAM_CHECK_COMMITS, UPSTREAM_CHECK_GITTAGREGEX and UPSTREAM_VERSION_UNKNOWN used by recipeutils is lacking a default value

> bitbake-getvar UPSTREAM_CHECK_COMMITS

returns

> The variable 'UPSTREAM_CHECK_COMMITS' is not defined

Most of the code does something like "d.getVar("UPSTREAM_CHECK_COMMITS") == "1":",
so having a sane default (e.g. empty value) will not impact functionality
