Some observations: a) It is only one selftest thread that fails, you can tell by the build-st-XXXX where XXXX is a pid being the same for all failures. b) In poky, this path never exists: $ find -name bbpath.py ./meta-selftest/lib/devtool/bbpath.py ./meta-selftest/lib/recipetool/bbpath.py So the question is why it seemed to end up with a bad data. Some kind of cached path problem? Do any of the tests manipulate/add bbpath.py files?
Could it be a test removing meta-selftest from bblayers and then breaking future tests that assume it is present?

What do we do with bugs that happen once every ~13 months ?
Seems to be have gone away. We've changed some things in memory resident bitbake, and devtool path handling. Re-open if seen again.
