Description Song Liu 2011-10-04 22:13:25 UTC
Determine and integrate / create arch reference BSPs (e500, Cortex, ARM, MIPs)
Comment 1 Darren Hart 2011-10-14 11:48:48 UTC
This bug is for determining WHICH BSPs to start work on. The BSPs will be developed and tracked independently.
Comment 2 Darren Hart 2011-11-15 10:53:19 UTC
Bruce, you set Design Review - where is the design? Can it be pasted here for review?
Comment 3 Yi Zhao 2011-11-28 00:20:20 UTC
Hi Darren,
QA is trying to development for this feature, but now I am not very clear about it. Would you please tell me which BSPs will be updated and integrated? Do you think it is necessary to develop some special test cases for this feature ?

Thanks.

I'd have to answer this one (since it's assigned to me).

Right now the default is that we'll have the same BSPs in 1.2 as in 1.1.
Any new BSP adoptions are still being discussed, and there is still no
consensus on a complete list.

We will have updated routerstationpro support for mips, and support for the
pandaboard for ARM. Powerpc will likely stay the same as 1.1.

As for tests:

Standard:

  - typical BSP tests (build, boot, ethernet, serial
  - LTP/posix

Extra:

  - Updated READMEs will be produced for the board listing the peripherals
and hardware that will be supported. Those items could have specific test
cases produced. But until the boards are updated to the new yocto kernel
    the exact list is unknown.
Comment 5 Bruce Ashfield 2011-12-06 07:40:47 UTC
Due to some pending input, this needs to move to M2, and will track the kernel version jump when that happens.
Comment 6 Bruce Ashfield 2012-01-30 13:43:55 UTC
Hardware reference boards will remain for 1.2. Newly released ARM
targets and MIPS references will be considered for 1.3, but they arrived
too late for 1.2 inclusion.
Comment 7 Bruce Ashfield 2012-03-15 12:41:55 UTC
This is resolved for 1.2.

1.3 will have new references, since some of the boards that were under
investigation have started shipping.
