Description Andrei Gherzan 2012-01-06 08:19:25 UTC
Here is the log.

ERROR: binutils was skipped: incompatible with license GPLv3
NOTE: Runtime target 'kernel-base' is unbuildable, removing...
Missing or unbuildable dependency chain was: ['kernel-base', 'binutils']

This error is not fatal and finishes the build without building the kernel.

I think that the problem comes from a new commit:

linux-tools: add binutils to perf DEPENDS

We have witnessed non-deterministic failures of perf for some platforms
whilst looking for bfd.h, a header provided by binutils.

Comment 1 Andrei Gherzan 2012-01-07 07:49:22 UTC
I reverted the above mentioned commit and things are working as expected. So that is the problem. Binutils should be included in PERFDEPENDS conditionally if GPLv3 packages are accepted. Tested on a qemuarm build - image minimal.
