Trying to debug a dependency chain in poky-tiny with master as of: c9e95d3363d28ae92eb9ed1ed560ad3769482f8a $ bitbake -u depexp -g core-image-minimal Gtk-Message: Failed to load module "pk-gtk-module" Gtk-Message: Failed to load module "canberra-gtk-module" Traceback (most recent call last): File "/home/dvhart/source/poky-tiny/bitbake/bin//bitbake", line 258, in <module> ret = main() File "/home/dvhart/source/poky-tiny/bitbake/bin//bitbake", line 178, in main ui_main = get_ui(configuration) File "/home/dvhart/source/poky-tiny/bitbake/bin//bitbake", line 68, in get_ui module = __import__("bb.ui", fromlist = [interface]) File "/home/dvhart/source/poky-tiny/bitbake/lib/bb/ui/depexp.py", line 27, in <module> from bb.ui.crumbs.progress import ProgressBar ImportError: No module named progress
Looks like the patch introducing the new hob deleted the file which includes the progressbar class implementation used by depexp. It's enough just to copy that file back in. See https://github.com/incandescant/bitbake/commit/e321d0a6b4c40f0f2c13a191ae1ddf7165c45ff4
Patch submitted to the BitBake list to re-add this file
Created attachment 338 [details] The missing progress.py file Darren, drop this in bitbake/lib/bb/ui/crumbs to have depexp functional again
Thanks Joshua, works for me.
Fix now in master: http://git.yoctoproject.org/cgit.cgi/poky/commit/?id=2ff96d664e8e003f64de42187fce9ad0f9646070
