Description Nitin Kamble 2012-03-12 16:48:43 UTC
This is also needed for x32 performance work on blacksand board.

A challenge here is that the firmware is 32 bit, so by default we build 64bit binaries for syslinux and grub-efi - which don't run on this system :/
Comment 2 Darren Hart 2012-07-20 20:40:02 UTC
The n450 BSP in meta-intel is in the unfortunate situation of being saddled with 32 bit firmware despite being a 64 bit system. We coud convert this to x86_64, but doing so builds the boot loaders (e.g. grub-efi) as 64 bit, which the EFI shell will not execute, expecting a 32 bit payload.

While it may be possible to build the EFI bootloader as a different arch than the target, I don't feel it would be worth the effort to make it 64 bit as the board has a maximum of 2 GB of memory anyway.

Closing as WONTFIX.
