like distro qemu package, the qemu-native recipe should generate binaries to run user level apps using the qemu user level application running binaries such as qemu-i386. This is needed for glibc & eglibc to run different architecture binaries using qemu user level execution binaries.
Now I understand the requirement better now. qemu-native is emitting the needed qemu-arm & qemu-mips binaries. And it is not emitting qemu-i386 & qemu-ppc binaries. So if these 2 missing binaries gets generated in working fashion, that would be sufficient for eglibc build for generation of locales. Thanks, Nitin
Adding coment which flew over the mailing list: From RP: Great, now I see the commit in question, this makes sense. It looks like pseudo and qemu interacting badly together. Mark: This looks like its a pseudo related problem, is there a way we can drop the pseudo context to run a command? It may also be worth experimenting with LD_LIBRARY_PATH to see if that can help things at all... Cheers, Richard From Mark: To disable pseudo, while already running, you need to set: "PSEUDO_RELOADED=YES", and then exec something.... This will cause pseudo to disable itself from the LD_PRELOAD, and thus fall out of memory on the exec. It'd be interesting to know what the interaction is with pseudo. In our environment we don't run qemu with pseudo, but we do run the user-mode NFS server. --Mark
please ignore the commet # 2 here, it belongs to a different qemu bug.
Theoretically this is as simple as adding i386-linux-user to the target-list in EXTRA_OECONF, however in reality the recipe no longer compiles with this option enabled so we need someone to spend some time figuring out why.
There are couple of other bugs blocked by this issue. so can the priority on this bug be raised ? Thanks, Nitin

Nitin, Can you verify it? Thanks, edwin
