When I start hob and select machine beagleboard (or qemuarm) I get three error boxes which problem reports:

dependency problem with recipe-rt (not supported)
syslinux (not in COMPATIBLE_HOST)
initramfs (unresolved RDEPENDENCY)

After that machine selection is reset to dummy and I cannot do anything with the beagleboard or qemuarm

No problem when I select atom-pc, for example.

Which branch or commit are you using to test Hob? I could not reproduce this issue with latest master. 

I think your issue is solved by commit:
