tree/branch: poky/1.2_M4 commit: da6233ea034f35eff59306fdad31f318c340c359 With 1.2 M4, we could build out image in Hob. If we save the built out image into template, there are some extra files generated(hob-image-hob.bb, local-hob.conf, bblayers-hob.conf), which could be used to build image from bitbake command line. I tried the feature but the image from command line is quite small. For example, I select core-image-basic for qemux86 in Hob. The image is 198M after build finished. But if I use the hob-image-hob.bb file to build image via bitbake command line, the final image is only 64M.
Update the bug since I build hob-image yesterday. It should be "bitbake hob-image-hob" if I want to build hob image recipe. And it would report no provider for libpcreposix. This bug is fixed by http://git.yoctoproject.org/cgit/cgit.cgi/poky/commit/?id=c15d4a2ddef8b452b03209ccb207f767ae93af39 But with the fix commit, I met another issue related with RPM installation order (not related with Hob). I will report another but to track that.
I tested with master commit 720fe9e371eef16da19df0885188aa0341ad2090, the bug is fixed.
