There's been no changes to the kernel in weeks for the routerstationpro. When did this boot last ?
This looks very likely to be as a result of Mark's tune changes. Note the flag differences. Mark?
I'd agree, I also suspect the flags. At least, I don't think "pic" should be used by Linux kernel. And, "mips32r2" sounds more reasonable than "mips3" since MIPS 24K is MIPS32 R2 core.
I reverted the tune changes, and the kernel before and after are the same.... Whatever is happening is unrelated to the tune.
Kernel compile flags should be in kernel Makefile rather than cross toolchain template. But, according to Bruce, no one changed kernel stuff.
Compared the RC2 kernel and the latest master kernel, it sounds routerstation kernel patches are not applied in master branch at all. Bruce, All of routerstation BSP patches are commented out in rouerstationpro.scc. Were they moved to another branch? But, those commits are not in the kernel tree at all.
Without AR71 patches, SGI_IP22 is enabled in current kernel config.
Ignore the commented out patches. They are only like that to prevent the validation from trying to re-push the changes. The patches merged post tree-gen, so the status/series files isn't quite up to date with the branch. I'll check the meta branch here. I pushed an x86 change out, but the master SRCREV is still behind it .. maybe something went wrong in the tools.

Something's up with the tools or meta branch. I'll take this for the next little while, and update when I've got my build configured.
It sounds weird. I also can find those commits in master kernel tree. However, if those patches are applied, there will be arch/mips/ar71xx dir. It's true on RC2 kernel. But, there isn't that dir in master kernel at all. And, I uploaded RC2 and master kernel config.
My master config is what I'd expect (it matches your RC2) .config, everything looks sane here. If you can contact me with access details to your build, I'll have a look.
Found the issue (thanks to Yang getting me access). There's a merge commit at the head of the board branches that needs to be the SRCREV. Without it the branch validation moves the old branch away and creates a new one. This is ok for most of the hardware reference boards, but it means that the board commits for this BSP are missing and hence the bad boot. Pull request will be out soon.
pull request sent.
