When i run glxgears using 1.2M4-rc3 build image qemux86/x86-64 sato sdk, i got: "Error:couldn't get an RGB, Double-buffered visual" on host Ubuntu 11.10 x86-64, Opensuse 12.1 x86-64 and Fedora 16 x86. image location:http://adtrepo.yoctoproject.org/1.2/rootfs/qemux86/core-image-sato-sdk-qemux86.tar.bz2 Tree/Branch: Poky/1.2_M4 Commit id: fae1c7a5fdcea199338b5f91efaafd7c72aec5dd BTW, IN last test circle 1.2M4-rc2, all glxgears issues on opensuse and ubuntu fixed and verified, reference to bug 1886, bug 1927.
Seems the lib-qemugl doesn't overrides original one from mesa-dri. Will check and make a patch
This is occurring because the pkg_postinst of the qemugl package is supposed to remove the /usr/lib/libGL.so.1.2 from the libgl1 package installation, and symlink it's own libGL in its place. However, during the image do_rootfs step, qemugl is getting installed *before* libgl1. This is another problem caused by RPM's package ordering issue (the one that caused us so many headaches with packages that included useradd features).
I'm working on converting the pkg_postinst to run at first boot instead of do_rootfs time, and testing it. I'll take this bug to completion.
Fixed in oe-core and poky master as of: http://git.yoctoproject.org/cgit/cgit.cgi/poky/commit/?id=abddce33ac3a736d497e54cc1c424cbddac27b8e
got fixed and verified on poky/denzil:35196ff703726addf7f4051ee09d70bf9ee0c5d0
