I cannot reproduce this with either qemux86 or qemux86-64 sato images from the autobuilder (core-image-sato from http://autobuilder.yoctoproject.org/pub/nightly/20120417-2/machines/qemu/ ) nor did I observe it when testing qemux86 and atom-pc images built on my machine. I closed and re-ran connman-properties a number of times on each image just to make sure.

Hongna, what does the connman applet show after about 10 seconds - is it indicating the network is connected or disconnected? Also, are you able to query connman itself to see what the state of the network is - for example try copying the following script into the image (you can do this with scp) and running it with python:

Missing items in connman-properties

It is weird, I mean using tarball image which start using nfs, When the image launch immediately the connman applet show disconnected network, but my network works and i can get ip address through ifconfig(1),stay there for a long time, the network is also disconnected indicated from the connman applet, then i start the connmand properties window, there is only System Configuration, no other items as attachment(2), and i set OfflineMode on in the window, it doesn't work(3), Even though the network is disconnect, "Wired Networks" should be showed in the window. And i try your python script on it, got no response. All in above, there are 3 issues.

Now I understand why this is not working and have reproduced it here. Because the network connection is set up by the kernel and in use by the system, connman is not managing it; thus it is not shown by connman-properties.

Even if this did work, it would not be particularly useful - any reconfiguration or bringing down of the network interface would almost certainly cause the system to freeze.

My suggestion would be to test this functionality from an ext3 image (i.e. not using NFS) where it definitely does work (and is supposed to); alternatively a new test could be designed in which a separate dummy network interface is created which can be managed by connman (maybe using mac80211_hwsim? I haven't tried this though).
