We have agreed to refer to the 'self-hosted-image' as "build appliance".

I have updated the 1.3 documentation to not use the term "self-hosted-image".  I also looked through the Build Appliance page on YP website and made a few minor adjustments to some areas of the text to ensure that the term "Build Appliance" is properly applied.  

So the docs and webpage part of this bug are satisfied.  However, the bug itself is a little weird because it is logged against Hob, which does need fixed regarding the inclusion of the "self-hosted-image" file that can be selected from one the GUI menus.  Note that I used the name "build-appliance-image" for the image that we will use in 1.3.  

I don't know whether to mark this bug complete (I suspect not) as it really does not address any fixes in Hob.  It does, however, fix the manuals and the website.

Mea culpa: I am so used to file bugs for Hob that it didn't cross my mind this is not a Hob bug. I've edited the title, and if all changes are made to the documentation, I think the bug should be marked as resolved.
