with 1.1.2 edison branch,poky/edison: 8886aee5b9741c05886994967d9ecf420331c600, Meta-intel/edison: f3040cf1559e631a03f61bab2de99d485bce21df.
my settings in conf/lcoal.conf are:

MACHINE = "qemux86"
require conf/multilib.conf
MULTILIBS = "multilib:lib64"
DEFAULTTUNE_virtclass-multilib-lib64 = "x86-64"
*******************
then run command: bitbake lib64-core-image-sato
i got the error:

There's known issues of multilib for 1.1.2 and given the stage of 1.1.2 and the scale of the fix, we just won't fix for 1.1.2 and will release note the issue.
