Description Jesse Zhang 2012-07-18 07:00:27 UTC
When connected from the serial port, screen won't start. It just hung there, until I pressed ctrl-z; running 'fg' would then cause screen to quit.

# fg
screen
Sorry, cannot contact session "781.ttyS0.qemux86" again.

Using a common x86 PC. Can also reproduce in qemu with some bsps (e.g. qemuppc) but qemux86 seems fine.

A workaround is to start screen in daemon mode and then reattach it.

screen -dmS name
screen -r

Works fine when using ssh.

Catalin, can you see if this is still reproducible on master for both qemux86 and some hardware serial line?
Comment 2 Catalin Enache 2017-06-23 13:20:50 UTC
This issue is no longer present.

Tested with qemux86, qemuppc and serial line connected to an Emerson board.
Comment 3 Randy MacLeod 2017-06-23 13:32:09 UTC
Defect is gone for master or the details to reproduce are not sufficient.
If it still affects an old branch or you have details about how to reproduce the error, please re-open.
