Description Stefan Stanacar 2012-08-29 13:20:35 UTC
There are cases when poky needs to use fakeroot (when using INHERIT += "archive-original-source" and you want srpms in the image). It seems in Ubuntu fakeroot it's pulled in by some other package (or it's installed by default) but it's missing in Fedora and can lead to build failures (see #2619)

I updated the package list for Fedora to include the python-curses package. You can see the change at http://www.yoctoproject.org/docs/latest/yocto-project-qs/yocto-project-qs.html#fedora.

After looking more at the email and the bugs I realized that I didn't add the right package to Fedora. This commit adds fakeroot to Fedora and python-curses to OpenSUSE.

You can see the change at http://www.yoctoproject.org/docs/latest/yocto-project-qs/yocto-project-qs.html#fedora

Argh, sorry for misleading you but it seems that after all it was a real bug for fakeroot (we should not depend on host fakeroot), so fakeroot it's not required on Fedora after all.
Comment 4 Scott Rifenbark 2012-08-30 13:39:53 UTC
Per Stefan's comment... I removed fakeroot from the required package list for Fedora. See http://www.yoctoproject.org/docs/1.3/yocto-project-qs/yocto-project-qs.html#fedora for the fix.
