The hob workflow can be simplified for folks who only ever use the same machine all the time.  Let us take for exmaple that you might only use a single target such as the qemux86 where MACHINE = "qemux86".

Every time one start the HOB, the first thing you have to do is select qemux86 before you can do anything.  It would be ideal if it was possible to just additionaly set something like HOB_MACHINE = "qemux86" in the local.conf because it is the only target that will be used.

This also solves the problem where you might accidentally select the wrong machine and incur a very long parse before you can select the right machine, or worse yet don't realize until you get to image creation that you selected the wrong machine. :-)
