Description liping Ke 2010-09-16 00:10:16 UTC
When build arm, it will soon prompt me that I have no permission when building locales. With dexuan's help, we workaround with "Enter 'echo 0 > /proc/sys/vm/mmap_min_addr' prior to running bitbake. "

I did not meet this problem with x86 but keeping meeting the problem with arm.

Dexuan said that OE should have fixed the problem according to OE's wiki.
"With current qemu in OE mmap_min_addr tricks are not needed at all. So now it should work on every system with readable /proc/sys/vm/mmap_min_addr or /proc/sys/vm/mmap_min_addr <= 65536. "

Not sure whether this is a issue for us.

Thanks& Regards,
criping

I will revert the deletion of the check we used to have in sanity.bbclass and poky-qemu-internal.

We may need to enhance it further too...

I've re-enabled the warning message for the mmap_min_addr for this with commit: 7f7c185cf1ed2bd02c9a98e694cb74cc89a15daf

Revert "Drop vm_mmap_min_addr checks from scripts and sanity class"
This reverts commit 138df217efe850528f88d340acf864c38780c2b0.

We still need the vm_mmap_min_addr set to 0 to run locale generation for qemu-arm
