Description Darren Hart 2012-11-13 18:44:40 UTC
Most of the *-standard.scc BSP descriptions include a common block like the following:

	include cfg/usb-mass-storage.scc
	include cfg/boot-live.scc
	include features/latencytop/latencytop.scc
	include features/profiling/profiling.scc

Most of these (with the possible exception of usb-mass-storage) seem like they should just be in standard.scc, rather than peppered across all the BSPs.

I could see that some of these might not apply to all architectures, if that is the case, perhaps an ARCH-standard.scc feature is called for and we can include the relevant one for every BSP, still greatly reducing the duplication and avoiding update errors when that common set changes.
Comment 1 Bruce Ashfield 2013-01-16 04:36:33 UTC
Moving to M4, to coincide with the release candidate kernel.
Comment 2 Bruce Ashfield 2013-04-15 17:13:13 UTC
Most of this was completed for 1.4, but some BSPs remain. Bumping to 1.5 for the remainder cleanup
which will happen early in the cycle.
Comment 3 Bruce Ashfield 2013-10-09 00:28:38 UTC
Sadly, this has to be bumped again. But there's a big audit that is planned for the 1.6 cycle and kernel, so common blocks can be identified then and these
factored out.
Comment 4 Bruce Ashfield 2014-04-08 19:41:53 UTC
Moving to 1.7 as part of a kernel meta-data update and developer experience change.

Note: some of this was done in 1.6, but not enough to call complete.
Comment 5 Bruce Ashfield 2016-07-27 17:32:06 UTC
Closing this and keeping bug: 1989 to track the configuration factoring and shuffling.
