Description Tarek 2012-12-18 09:37:43 UTC
X11 is not working correctly because .so is missing.

You can reproduce the problem by running the unit test:

# DISPLAY=:0 /unit_tests/mxc_epdc_x11_fb_test.out

Error: unable to open X display

Or if you try to use the Gstreamer plug-in mfw_isink

Can you paste the full output when running the binary?

For this you need to pass:

#: DISPLAY=:0 <command>

So it will have the display set.
Comment 5 Tarek 2012-12-18 14:00:00 UTC
Same problem error for me

root@nitrogen6x:~# DISPLAY=:0 /unit_tests/mxc_epdc_x11_fb_test.out

Error: unable to open X display

I'm using HDMI TV.

Does it work for you?

Hi Tarek,
I could not reproduce this issue with latest repo heads. However, these are my comments:

1. Running a simple playback works fine (as you can see, I did not set the DISPLAY variable)

# /unit_tests/mxc_vpu_test.out -D "-i /unit_tests/a

[INFO]	total fps= 30.57

2) Running the same test as you did, it indicates that the /dev/fb5 does not exist, but I do not see the log you posted.

root@imx6qsabresd:/unit_tests# DISPLAY=:0 /unit_tests/mxc_epdc_x11_fb_test.out
using XRandR: screen size = 1024x768, rotation = UR
Error in opening fb device
/dev/fb5: No such file or directory
root@imx6qsabresd:/unit_tests#

3) When using gst-launch, the pipeline you posted does not work, at least nothing is shown on the screen but if you use mfw_v4lsink, it works as expected, video is playback correctly.

It might have been fixed with last BSP release; we are using the 3.0.5 Gstreamer plugins in master.

Tarek, can you try to reproduce your issue? We'd like to close this issue but we need your confirmation.
Comment 8 Tarek 2013-02-07 10:10:25 UTC
Hi Otavio,

My main concern is to get the Gstreamer mfw_isink element working.

Last time I checked was in January and it wasn't working.

I raised this bug because I thought it is X problem that affects mfw_isink but I might not be correct.

You can close this bug because I raised another one for isink:

https://bugzilla.yoctoproject.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3781

Thanks
