one thing thats interesting is that for all these empty .debug packages the corresponding real package has files in subdirs under usr/lib64/perl/5.14.3

e.g.

perl-module-ipc-sysv
perl-module-ipc-sysv/usr
perl-module-ipc-sysv/usr/lib64
perl-module-ipc-sysv/usr/lib64/perl
perl-module-ipc-sysv/usr/lib64/perl/5.14.3
perl-module-ipc-sysv/usr/lib64/perl/5.14.3/IPC
perl-module-ipc-sysv/usr/lib64/perl/5.14.3/IPC/SysV.pm
perl-module-ipc-sysv/usr/lib64/perl/5.14.3/auto
perl-module-ipc-sysv/usr/lib64/perl/5.14.3/auto/IPC
perl-module-ipc-sysv/usr/lib64/perl/5.14.3/auto/IPC/SysV
perl-module-ipc-sysv/usr/lib64/perl/5.14.3/auto/IPC/SysV/SysV.so
Comment 3 Paul Eggleton 2013-03-21 15:43:49 UTC
This is a problem with the package splitting in the perl recipe using do_split_packages - recursive is set to True, the regex for the first call 'auto/([^.]*)/[^/]*\.(so|ld|ix|al)' is greedy, and the .debug directories contain .so files, so each one gets picked up as a package.
