The vim syntax/ftdetect files for bitbake are great. I wonder if it would be possible to contribute these upstream to vim, making it easier for vim users to get the benefits of syntax hilighting in the recipes without manual configuration.

If you are using a plugin manager for vim, the patches are easy to use in the current location in bitbake.
