Description Sebastian 2013-03-19 09:24:22 UTC
The file poky-danny-8.0/meta/conf/bitbake.conf has no support for mercurial-native, so you can't use SRC_URI = hg://

For supporting hg add mercurial-native to bitbake.conf, look below.

##################################################################
# Openembedded Software Prerequisites.
##################################################################

# python-native should be here but python relies on building
# its own in staging
ASSUME_PROVIDED = "\
    bzip2-native \
    chrpath-native \
    git-native \
    mercurial-native \
    grep-native \
    diffstat-native \
    patch-native \
    perl-native-runtime \
    python-native-runtime \
    tar-native \
    virtual/libintl-native \
    "

You can add mercurial-native to ASSUME_PROVIDED in your local.conf, since oe-core does not have any mercurial based recipes, it's not assumed to be required.

You probably get an error as follows:

NOTE: Resolving any missing task queue dependencies
ERROR: Nothing PROVIDES 'mercurial-native'
ERROR: Required build target 'dvb-apps' has no buildable providers.
Missing or unbuildable dependency chain was: ['dvb-apps', 'mercurial-native']

By adding the following you line to your local.conf

ASSUME_PROVIDE += "mercurial-native"

You will tell bitbake that you have installed mercurial on your native system to satisfy that dependency.

Please let us know if this resolves your issue.

I add ASSUME_PROVIDE += "mercurial-native" to my local.conf, but it doesn't help.
I get following error message:

Comment 3 Richard Purdie 2013-03-20 09:22:07 UTC
The variable is ASSUME_PROVIDED (with a D on the end)
Comment 4 Sebastian 2013-03-20 09:43:38 UTC
I tested again with ASSUME_PROVIDED += "mercurial-native" and it works.
Comment 5 Saul Wold 2013-03-21 14:49:06 UTC
Works for reporter
