Richard had a hunch that this was fixed by http://git.yoctoproject.org/cgit.cgi/poky/commit/?id=e6149ec6c4c14d3a939022cdc29ac94dced836dd, so I've merged that to danny-next.
Re-opening - that patch was x86_64-specific and we saw it again last night: http://autobuilder.yoctoproject.org:8011/builders/nightly-x86/builds/124/steps/Running%20Sanity%20Tests/logs/stdio CCing Darren for any insight as he solved this on x86-64. Is the same patch good for x86, or is it x86-64 specific?
We applied that patch to x86_64 only because that was the only place we saw the failure. It should apply fine to x86 as well. However, ab06 is running a 3.8 kernel, as opposed to the 2.6.37 kernel running on the previous ABs exhibiting the failure on x86_64. It's possible this bug is still around and just really hard to hit on x86 and new kernels (fun). How reproducible is this?
It's not very reproducable, this is the first one I've noticed for a while.
Confirmed with Darren that it's the paravirt code that's crashing. Patch sent to master to disable PV on qemux86 too.
This has been merged to all branches now.
