At least with the linux-yocto recipes, the workdir is no longer incrementing the gitX part of the directory name, instead replacing it with gitAUTOINC, for example: 3.8.4+gitAUTOINC+2a6d36e75ca0a121570a389d7bab76ec240cbfda_47aed0c17c1c55988198ad39f86ae88894c8e0a4-r4.1 I suspect AUTOINC just stopped getting expanded at some point as I couldn't find an instance where it was used without a $ or ${}.
This is expected, it only gets expanded in final output, e.g. the packages or deploy data.
In that case, can it be removed from the workdir name? It doesn't add any information and those path names are ridiculously long as it is. Or is that string used for a replacement token later?
Its used as a replacement token later...
