Host Machine: Open Suse12.1
Platform : Qemux86, Qemux86-64

Though the network interface is up, IP is assigned to qemu target machine but it is unreachable. the target ip is not pinging from host machine

Have you confirmed your firewall settings are not interfering?

There was an issue that might have been patched with this commit:
4462df6 runqemu: fix networking issues

Verified the issue with the latest release (http://autobuilder.yoctoproject.org/pub/nightly/20130528-2/)

May be fixed because of the commit: 4462df6 "runqemu: fix networking issues"

I think you process the defect for closure

verified since qemu network works right now.
