Description Laszlo Papp 2013-07-25 06:58:31 UTC
When you are trying to create your own distro layer, but does not accidentally inherit from Poky, the version generated by default will be '6' into the relevant config file.

However, it should be '5' in that case, so you did something wrong. The problem is that the user gets an obfuscated error message about comparing the generated bblayers.conf and the sample from the meta-yocto poky layer.

When the comparison happens, we can realize that there are no differences, so the user has no any idea what can go wrong. I have spent 1-2 days with it before getting some help on IRC.

I suggest to improve the error message with more concrete output what the error might be.

Hmm, thanks. Perhaps, you could provide a browsable url next time.
