In this commit [1] the following is used:

+KERNEL_DEVICETREE = "${S}/arch/powerpc/boot/dts/omap3-beagle.dts ${S}/arch/powerpc/boot/dts/omap3-beagle-xm.dts"

Why /arch/powerpc ?

There is already a patch for that on the list!!
