STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. To reproduce the bug, you have to use a proxy server that is not configured correctly in the console from which Eclipse is started

2. Open Eclipse and switch to bitbake commander perspective on the right corner of Eclipse window.
Create a new BitBake commander project:
  1.1 File -> New -> Project ->Yocto Bitbake Commander -> New Yocto Project
  1.2 Input the Project Name
  1.3 Set Project Location as an empty folder

3. Select the bitbake project : File -> New -> Yocto BitBake Commander -> BitBake Recipe

4. Set SRC_URI as ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/m4/m4-1.4.9.tar.gz and click on Populate

EXPECTED RESULT
After the timeout, Eclipse should send an error message

ACTUAL RESULT
Eclipse is blocked

Hi Jessica,
I cannot confirm since creating a bb commander project is blocked by https://bugzilla.yoctoproject.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5473

I will confirm after 5473 is updated.

Reproduces in Ubuntu 13.10 64bit and Fedora 20 64bit too. 

Eclipse was started like this: 
[fed@fed scripts]$ ftp_proxy="http://asd.com:912" ./eclipse/eclipse 


On my Fedora, the console output shows that eclipse hangs when trying to resolve the asd.com website which was passed as ftp_proxy server:



You can also run generated qemu images with a command like 'runqemu qemux86'

OTHER COMMENTS:
There should be a timeout error message for the plugin when waiting for resolving the ftp_proxy specified.

This bug isn't reproducing in Kepler

This will not be fixed since it is just a juno bug.
