At this moment, I think the plugin doesn't bring much added value. Powertop interface changed from 1.13 to 2.4 and the output displayed by the Eclipse plugin doesn't fully exhibit the information gathered by powertop. We should change the plugin to take advantage of the powertop built-in feature to export the data in .csv or .html, which we could then display in Eclipse. Or, even better, we could run the powertop command in the console and give the user control of the powertop interface. Much like it is done in the latencytop plugin.
Hi Andrian, These are cool ideas, want to take the challenge and implement them? Cheers, Jessica
Hi Jessica, Ideally, I would. But there's other higher priority work I need to do in the next couple of months, so most probably I won't have time for it. However, if there isn't someone else who wants to take the task before then, I might allocate some time for it after Christmas. --Adrian
Adrian, Work on it after X'mas is fine since we're really low on resource for Eclipse plug-in atm. I'm assigning the bug to you so you can work on it base on your bandwidth. Thanks, Jessica
The powertop integration (such as it was) has been removed from the Eclipse plugin, so I'm resolving this as obsolete.
