Steps to reproduce: 1. In the "Network" tab of the Hob "Settings" dialog, select the "Manual proxy configuration" option 2. Enter some dummy proxy server information 3. Then select the "Direct network connection" option 3. Click "Save" This will add the dummy proxy server information to your local.conf file and also the following 2 lines: #added by bitbake enable_proxy = "False" 4. Change to the CLI and build something Outcome: your build will fail with a fetcher failure because bitbake is trying to use the proxy server. In fact, if you then launch Hob and check the status of the Network tab in the Settings dialog, the "Manual proxy configuration" option is now selected. Expected outcome: since my last action was selecting the "Direct network connection" option and then click "Save", the proxy details I entered should not be used when I build, and the Hob dialog should still have the "Direct network connection" option selected.
