I believe it would be a good idea to add WONTFIX to the default bug search criteria. Many users (mostly irregular ones) use the default search textbox to find issues they encountered. The resulting list does not contain known issues marked under WONTFIX and this is confusing ad the user will either file a new bug or leave unrewarded. The current WONTFIX bugs number is under 170 so I don't believe this will make search results irrelevant for regulars users who wish to do a quick search.
I looked into this for a short bit and found that quicksearch is not meant to be customized. We can change it in code if needed though. Perhaps there are resources I missed. Does anyone have an example of this being done elsewhere that we could copy?
This cannot be done from the configuration options. The default search is a special search and the way it's done is hard-coded (in Bugzilla 4.2.7 at least). Also Quick search can be used to do complex queries and we can search for WONTFIX bugs like so: " resolution:WONTFIX other_key_words" I believe we can leave this as is for now, until a future Bugzilla version makes this easier.
