Write out the installed package list (a complete one, including complementary packages) to the deploy directory next to the image - perhaps ${IMAGE_NAME}.manifest or similar. This can then be used by both Toaster and the automated runtime testing code.

Hi, The documentation fix for this bug involved updating the "Image Generation section found at http://www.yoctoproject.org/docs/1.6/ref-manual/ref-manual.html#image-generation-dev-environment. Fixes included adding to the figure a new "Manifest" box fed by the IMAGE_MANIFEST variable and adding supporting text further down in the section. Part of the fix also included creating a new glossary entry for the IMAGE_MANIFEST variable, which can be viewed at http://www.yoctoproject.org/docs/1.6/ref-manual/ref-manual.html#var-IMAGE_MANIFEST.
