Description Fabrice 2014-01-21 14:19:36 UTC
In my project I run "bitbake adt-installer" and then copy the tarball from tmp/work/i586-poky-linux/adt-installer/0.1.8+svnr596-r11/adt_installer.tar.bz2
to another dir and unpack it.

When I run adt_installer I get the following error message:

Installing unfs ...
Link the ld.so.cache file into the host filesystem
ln: failed to create symbolic link `/home/user/porky/1.5/sysroots/x86_64-pokysdk-linux//etc/ld.so.cache': No such file or directory

I just tried to reproduce this on master (HEAD: libtool-cross/native: Force usage of bash due to sstate inconsistencies) without success. However, 'ln -s' would give such an error if the directory where the link is about to be created does not exist.

For example, in adt_installer_internal, the failing command is:

$SUDO ln -s /etc/ld.so.cache $OECORE_NATIVE_SYSROOT/etc/ld.so.cache

Does the $OECORE_NATIVE_SYSROOT/etc exist? If you're using opkg (for example), then in populate_sdk_ipk.bbclass in populate_sdk_ipk(), you'll find:

install -d ${SDK_OUTPUT}/${SDKPATHNATIVE}/${sysconfdir}

So, the etc/ directory should be created.

At this moment, I don't enough information to continue. I'm putting this in NEEDINFO, till you provide more info.

Closing this as invalid. No additional info was provided by the reporter either... If this is still an issue, feel free to re-open it and provide more info.
