Currently, it is unknow based on the documentation how to refer to the installed SDK sysroot when trying to build applications on top of it. It is an important information for library and application developers, so it would be nice to have it documented. For that matter, any other hidden gem could be fixed up in the same step if there are any, like include, library, or bin convenience paths, etc.
Scott, Please talk to Paul to get the needed info.
It may be a simple one. The SDKPATH determines what path will be offered to the user that installs the sdk which was generated by Yocto. This can be overridden by the user during the installation procedure after the running the installation script. I am not sure if there is much more to it.
Hi, Here is an attempt at defining the variable. Please let me know if corrections or additions need made: http://www.yoctoproject.org/docs/1.6/ref-manual/ref-manual.html#SDKPATH I would also like to know if this variable should be documented in the glossary chapter of the BitBake User Manual. Or, if it is limited to Yocto. Thanks, Scott
Looks ok to me if you meant http://www.yoctoproject.org/docs/1.6/ref-manual/ref-manual.html#var-SDKPATH. Thanks! (I am not sure about the bitbake documentation)
Description looks good. Could you also add a pointer to this variable from the "3.7. Application Development SDK" section as well? FYI this is OE-specific, so not appropriate for the bitbake manual.
Paul, See http://www.yoctoproject.org/docs/1.6/ref-manual/ref-manual.html#sdk-dev-environment for the link. I simply added it to the list. Laszlo... yes, I forgot the "var" :) Thanks, Scott
Great! Thanks.
Looks good to me. :)
Marking RESOLVED.
