On the package detail views, on either the 'built but not included' 'Generated Files' tab, or on the the 'included' 'files in root file system' tab, the pages show a table of a package's component file names and file sizes. If file size is a field of interest, then it is also probably interesting to be able to quickly see the largest file, or even large lists of small files, to facilitate different types of optimizations (image footprint, image loading). Currently this table, based on specs in bugzilla 4328, only is sorted alphabetically by file name.
Taking this one, since it requires design changes
Created attachment 1807 [details] Sorting the tables in detail pages
Steps to reproduce: for machine qemux86 1) bitbake core-image-minimal core-image-sato 2) select core-image-minimal 3) show the paths noted by Belen in original defect. The query counting children isn't constrained by 'target' which is the image number, so counting children (for opening acation) of core-image-minimal /boot is getting the results from core-image-sato as well - trivial fix.

Hi Dave, The size column in packages tab of a recipe page should be sortable. But in fact, it isn't. See page 7 of the attached "Sorting the tables in detail pages" document. May I file a defect against the issue?

The fix did not implement the sorting in the Packages tab of the recipe details page. I've opened bug 6154 for that.
Verified.
