avahi-daemon refuses to start in 3.8 kernel found in clanton because SO_REUSEPORT socket option is missing. It seems that the symbol was found during compilation but it was not found at runtime. SO_REUSEPORT is available only in kernel 3.9 onwards.

A workaround is to set disallow-other-stacks=yes to /etc/avahi/avahi-daemon.conf which prevents the call to setsockopt(SO_REUSEPORT)
