From the output of my bbvars.py script, Richard felt the following variables should not be in use:

> These variables are dead iirc and shouldn't be referenced anywhere:
> NATIVE_INSTALL_WORKS                  1
> PSTAGING_ACTIVE                       1
> PSTAGING_DISABLED                     1

$ git grep NATIVE_INSTALL_WORKS
meta/recipes-devtools/mtd/mtd-utils_1.1.0+git.bb:NATIVE_INSTALL_WORKS = "1"
meta/recipes-qt/qt4/qt4-tools-native.inc:NATIVE_INSTALL_WORKS = "1"

$ git grep PSTAGING_ACTIVE
meta/classes/staging.bbclass:PSTAGING_ACTIVE = "0"
meta/conf/bitbake.conf:export PSTAGING_ACTIVE = "0"

$ git grep PSTAGING_DISABLED
meta/recipes-core/meta/external-poky-toolchain.bb:PSTAGING_DISABLED = "1"

These references all do nothing. I've removed them in f07b1a2756879848ca4501fb1323a68861ab9cc2
