With the v3.14 kernel recipes, many meta-intel BSPs are are working fine without any errors with the provided audio driver. But there is no audio coming out from the speakers.

found a fix for this. Now I can hear the audio on NUC.

This is what I have added to the kernel config, which fixed the audio over HDMI:

CONFIG_SND_HDA_CODEC_HDMI=y
CONFIG_SND_HDA_GENERIC=y
CONFIG_SND_HDA_CODEC_ANALOG=y
