Description Darren Hart 2014-05-05 19:49:48 UTC
After flashing MNW2_IFWI_X64_D_2014_05_04_1727:

hse-leds.sh: PASS
hse-i2c-eeprom.sh: FAIL
HSE SUB keyboard/mouse: PASS
SD mount and list: PASS
Calamari-7seg.sh: PASS
Calamari-leds-pwm.sh: FAIL
Calamari-rgb.sh: PASS
Calamari-i2c-eeprom.sh: FAIL
Calamari-btns.sh: PASS

The FAILs above are addressed by enabling ALL devices under:
Device Manager
	System Setup
		South Cluster Configuration
			LPSS & SCC Configuration
				LPSS Configuration

I highlight "ALL" because only enabling the relevant devices was not sufficient. For example, if I enable only the following, neither i2c nor PWM were functional in the OS:

LPSS DMA #1 Support
LPSS DMA #2 Support
LPSS I2C #5 Support
LPSS I2C #6 Support
LPSS HSUART #1 Support
LPSS HSUART #2 Support
LPSS PWM #1 Support
LPSS PWM #2 Support
LPSS SPI Support

I also noticed that after enabling only the above, when I returned the menu on a subsequent boot, not all of the settings were set as specified (DMA in particular was Disabled). When I set everything to Enabled, the OS detected and used the two exposed I2C buses and the 2 PWM lines.

The bug is to address the fact that I2C [1-4] and 7 should not be required to use 5 and 6, and PWM should not require either. Also, the state should be saved correctly and the UI should not permit the user to input an invalid state (if, for example, one feature is dependent upon another).

Also, the default configuration should support the default configuration of the board - the I2C, PWM, UART, and SPI devices should be enabled after flashing.

I have done to make all LPSS configuration enabled on setup page by default.
Comment 3 Darren Hart 2014-05-14 20:25:04 UTC
This appears to be resolved in:

MNW2_IFWI_X64_D_2014_05_09_1521_SecEnabled.bin

I am able to use PWM in native mode and UART in GPIO mode with DMA2 disabled entirely.
