Until this is fixed, if this reproduces constantly then clearing the gdk-pixbuf-native sstate should work around it.
I built it on ubuntu12.04 and the build succeeded. Also, Ionut rebuilt it on ubuntu13.10 and the build succeeded. I think Ross's point holds. So I close this bug as FIXED/WORKSFORME. If there's any further problem, we can reopen it. //Chen Qi
