Created attachment 1997 [details] fetch log file When trying to build ti-compat-wireless-wl18xx for omap5-evm in "master" or "daisy", Git fetcher fails to find the revision eventhough it is present. In 1.6 (daisy) and master the git fetcher now checks that the SRCREV specified is on the branch specified (or master if no branch is specified). The error is correct, 23a0d62ea1a57327709a77f08d6265ec807a909f is not on the master branch; in fact it doesn't seem to be on any branch at all. We have a means of avoiding the check for situations like this - just append ;nobranch=1 to the entry in SRC_URI. FYI this was documented in the migration guide for 1.6: http://www.yoctoproject.org/docs/1.6/ref-manual/ref-manual.html#migration-1.6-bitbake
Hi Paul, Thank you very much for the help! On another note, it will be good to update the minimal requirements for git on documentation: git version 1.7.8 added the --list option to git-branch * "git branch" learned an explicit --list option to ask for branches listed, optionally with a glob matching pattern to limit its output. Current documentation says, Git 1.7.5 or greater. IMO, it should be updated to Git 1.7.8 or greater.
