Created attachment 2114 [details] BA kernel panic BA kernel panic
BA cannot boot, so the issue is still present even on latest master. However, as can be seen from attachments https://bugzilla.yoctoproject.org/attachment.cgi?id=2113 and https://bugzilla.yoctoproject.org/attachment.cgi?id=2114 I am hitting another issue in my investigation testing.
Correction, same issue.
Solution found. A modernized BA VMware machine config was implemented, which solves the issue.
Patch sent for review.
Fixed with commit http://git.yoctoproject.org/cgit/cgit.cgi/poky/commit/?id=3b37586fa4a355369b78ea16dee09b50edea96ec
Verified with 1.7 M3 rc2. The new configuration file Yocto_Build_Appliance.vmx is incompatible with vmplayer 5.x. We should use the latest vmware to test (e.g. vmware-workstation 10). There is minor issue with configure file, I filed a new bug 6728 . This bug can be marked as verified.
