During early boot stage, I am seeing the following message: setup_efi_pci() failed! If I tracked this down correctly, then this come from arch/x86/boot/compressed/eboot.c and then setup_efi_pci() function. Since the kernel uses efi_printk this is really early at boot. I wonder what is actually failing here and why. Are we exposing things wrongly from UEFI for the kernel and that is why the setup fails?
I really understand why setup_efi_pci() is failed, Darren, could you please debug on your side first, and give me some detailed information about efi service you call in this case. thanks.

This has been resolved upstream today (in the tip tree). This should make the v3.18 release. As it is only an annoying message fix, we will not be backporting it to previous kernels. Marking as resolved.
