Description David Anders 2014-10-22 18:39:17 UTC
During planning of the MinnowBoard Max the Low Speed Expansion was configured to support the use of I2S for external audio codecs. because all of the examples at the time were using HD Audio and not I2S, we were told the ILB_8254_SPKR could be used as the I2S MCLK. this has been proven to be incorrect. in order to support I2S moving forward the ILB_8254_SPKR signal will need to be replaced on the LSE by PMC_PLT_CLK_00. this will require a firmware change and will break lure compatibility of the matching GPIO.

Hi David,

I've been following this bug, as I'm keen to get my hands on boards with this fix. Could you clarify what you mean by "prototypes are ready to order"? Are they ready for me (as an end customer) to order, or for you as the design team to order from the manufacturer? If the former, then please advise where/how I can order boards with this fix applied? I'm keen to get 5 pieces as soon as possible.

Thanks,
Ryan

Ryan,

"prototypes" are boards we would order to verify that the changes made are valid and are working properly. the RevA4 boards contain a number of hardware fixes and updates, therefore we have to do some extended testing. we do not currently have a schedule posted for when revA4 will be pushed into production. you can continue monitoring this bug report for updates.

Dave

We are no longer tracking in Yocto Project Bugzilla MinnowBoard and MinnowBoard-MAX HW and firmware bugs.
