During early releases of the UEFI firmware we ran into some issues of not having a method of forcing the UEFI firmware to be reset. to address this issue, we are changing the function of J7 to perform as a GPIO controlled jumper. the signal GPIO_S5_17 will be used as the input for this function. when the jumper is removed the GPIO will be reported with a active high value. when a jumper is place on the header, the GPIO will be reported with a low value.

I can confirm that GPIO_S5_17 is reported as active high with no jumper and low when a jumper is in place. However, I do not understand what other functionality there is supposed to be, so I cannot confirm anything further.
Hi Dave, What opertaion BIOS should do if a jumper is detected in place? You mentioned "forcing the UEFI firmware to be reset". Could you give more detal ablout this?
I believe the idea is for the CPU to boot up with default UEFI setup. Handy if you accidentally disable the screen or USB.
when jumper is in place, firmware will reset NVRAM to default state and save.
