proposed patch

By configuring yocto with a custom kernel (using directly the kernel.bbclass), bitbake failed on the do_strip command with this error message :

[[: not found

Replace the '[[ ]]' by '[ ]' in the kernel.bb:do_strip function solve the issue.

Vincent, thanks for catching this. Have you sent your patch to the mailing list? That is where the review will take place. This one should go to the oe-core mailing list, and be sure to Cc Bruce Ashfield and myself.
Comment 2 Bruce Ashfield 2015-01-08 15:53:15 UTC
I've confirmed that the patch works here, and doesn't break any of the build machines
that I use (it was unlikely, but we have to be sure).

I can either complete the patch, or it goes to the list from Vincent .. either works for me.

I just have a stack of other patches and issues to work through first, before I send it as
part of my queue.

no, sorry, I did not submit (yet) the patch to the mailing list.
do you want me to send it ?

thanks to you guys, yocto seems to be a nice framework.

Message sent on yocto ML (hope everything is okay).

Note, this issue is almost the same than this one :

http://patchwork.openembedded.org/patch/84905/

and the fix is almost the same as well :)

Hello,

Just checked with latest poky hash: 7fb6a6e907e5803597b2e12ba7047c46e57dba26 on Ubuntu 14.10

Steps performed to verify this bug:

1)set default shell in /etc/passwd from bash to dash
2) built a core-image-minimal.

Everything was fine. Marking bug as verified.
