When doing boot: install, one of the questions asked is the following: Found drive at /dev/sda. Do you want to install poky there ? [y/n] The problem is that other text immediately piles on top of it, and the prompt gets lost in the noise. If the user doesn't go back and see the prompt and realize that it's still there and being waited for, it can be very confusing and appear to the user that the install has locked up. Here is what shows up to the user: Found drive at /dev/sda. Do you want to install poky there ? [y/n] kjournald starting. Commit interval 5 seconds EXT3-fs (sda1): using internal journal EXT3-fs (sda1): recovery complete EXT3-fs (sda1): mounted filesystem with writeback data mode kjournald starting. Commit interval 5 seconds EXT3-fs (sda2): using internal journal EXT3-fs (sda2): recovery complete EXT3-fs (sda2): mounted filesystem with writeback data mode This happens on both crownbay emgd and noemgd versions.
We can either silence the kernel, or at least drop the loglevel, or we can sleep to try and let all the messages get out.
Tried patch for this on crown bay, problem no longer seen.
