Description Richard Purdie 2015-02-22 22:39:05 UTC
Most distros now use the ext4 driver for all forms of ext filesystem and there appears to be no good reason not to do so. To do that we need:

#CONFIG_EXT2_FS is not set
#CONFIG_EXT3_FS is not set
EXT4_USE_FOR_EXT23=y
Comment 1 Darren Hart 2015-05-04 17:11:50 UTC
Bruce, I agree that this should be the default. Would you accept this bug and enable for ktype standard?
Comment 2 Bruce Ashfield 2015-06-16 04:15:38 UTC
Changes have been made for the 4.1 kernel. Will backport as appropriate.

Looks like I missed some options in my first attempt that this,
putting back to implementation for a quick recycle.

merged to master:

CONFIG_EXT4_FS=y
