We should get rid of the awfulness of trying to come up with BPN in distrodata and distro_check by splits etc and just rewrite those parts to utilise BPN. This will mean some modifications to BPN to incorporate some new prefixes/suffixes. See:

Seems like link is broken. Due to time constrains, moving it to M4.

Is an enhancement and we are on 2.3 m4 so moving to 2.4m1.
